Steak Night at Home: 4 Easy Steak Dinners in 30 Minutes or Less

Steak night does not need a reservation. These four dinners, from flat iron tacos to NY strip with garlic spinach, come together in 30 minutes or less with Ellsworth Foods.

Each recipe pairs a protein, a vegetable, and a side, with simple directions and easy swaps for whatever your freezer has on hand.

1. Flat Iron Steak Tacos with Peas & Fiesta Rice

Side: Fiesta Rice

Ingredients

  • 2 flat iron steaks, sliced thin
  • 1 cup green peas
  • 2 cups fiesta rice
  • 6 small flour or corn tortillas
  • 1 tbsp cumin
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • ½ cup diced onions, lime wedges

Directions

  1. Cook fiesta rice per package.
  2. Season steak strips with cumin and chili powder.
  3. Cook steak in hot skillet 2–3 min per side; rest 3 min.
  4. Steam peas 3–4 min; warm tortillas 30 sec per side.
  5. Slice steak thin; fill tortillas with steak, onions, and a squeeze of lime.

Easy Swaps

Use corn tortillas for GF; swap steak for chicken fajita strips; add avocado or salsa.

2. NY Strip with Sautéed Spinach & Baked Potato

Ingredients

  • 2 NY strip steaks
  • 2 cups chopped spinach
  • 2 baking potatoes
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • Salt, pepper, garlic powder
  • Toppings: sour cream, chives

Directions

  1. Microwave potatoes 8–10 min (pierce first), flipping halfway.
  2. Season steaks with salt, pepper, garlic powder.
  3. Heat cast iron over high heat; cook steaks 3–4 min per side for medium.
  4. Rest steaks 5 min.
  5. In same pan, melt butter, add garlic and spinach; wilt 2 min. Serve alongside.

Easy Swaps

Use sirloin or flat iron for a budget option; swap baked potato for roasted potatoes; add blue cheese crumbles to spinach.

3. Beef Tenderloin Tips with Green Beans & Mac and Cheese

  • 8 oz beef tenderloin tips
  • 2 cups green beans

Directions

  1. Heat mac & cheese per package directions.
  2. Steam green beans 4–5 min; toss with butter and salt.
  3. Season tenderloin tips with salt, pepper, and rosemary.
  4. Sear tips in hot skillet with butter 3–4 min per side; add garlic last minute.
  5. Rest 3 min and serve with mac & cheese and green beans.

4. Philly Steak Bowls with Peppers & Onions over Rice

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet Philly steak (4 servings)
  • ½ cup diced peppers
  • ½ cup diced onions
  • 2 cups cooked rice
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt, pepper, Worcestershire sauce
  • Optional: 4 slices provolone

Directions

  1. Cook rice per package.
  2. Heat oil in skillet over high heat; cook onions and peppers 4–5 min until soft.
  3. Add Philly steak strips; cook 4–5 min, breaking into pieces.
  4. Season with salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce.
  5. Serve over rice; top with provolone if desired.

Easy Swaps

Serve on hoagie rolls instead of rice; add provolone cheese; use chicken for a lighter option.
